LS/LT Combined Coolant Pressure & Temperature Sensor (PTemp)

OEM-Grade Accuracy. Coolant Pressure & Temperature Monitoring with Plug & Play Installation.

*NOTE: These are currently on a 10 business day lead time (shipped first-come-first-served)

The Kaizen Speed PTemp Kit allows you to monitor both coolant pressure and temperature using a single automotive-grade sensor installed directly in your factory Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor location.

No drilling, tapping, or additional coolant fittings required.

Unlike generic combination pressure and temperature sensors, our PTemp uses an automotive OEM-spec sensor with a temperature resistance curve suitable for accurate engine management. Each sensor is machined in-house for proper fitment and supplied with the correct sealing washer.

With our optional plug-and-play wiring harnesses and complete HP Tuners calibration data, we've eliminated the guesswork from installation and ECU integration.

Key Features

  • Automotive OEM-Spec Sensor: Proper temperature sensitivity and resolution for engine management applications.

  • Combined Pressure & Temperature: Monitor two critical engine parameters with one sensor.

  • Direct ECT Replacement: Installs in the existing coolant temperature sensor location on compatible LS and LT engines.

  • No Drilling or Tapping: Uses the factory sensor location.

  • Plug & Play Harness Options: PNP Harness works with LS3, LSA, LS9, LT1 MAP, and LT4 SCIAP MAP Sensors.

  • Factory PCM Integration: Ready-to-use ECT calibration data for HP Tuners VCM Editor.

  • Pressure Logging: Includes VCM Scanner transfer functions for PSIg, KPAg, and KPAa.

  • Aftermarket ECU Compatible: Pressure and temperature calibration data included - works with any and all aftermarket ECUs.

Temperature Resolution Matters...

Not all combination pressure and temperature sensors are suitable for automotive engine management.

Some inexpensive combination sensors, including the Lowdollar Motorsports sensor, have very little resistance change throughout the normal engine operating temperature range.

For example, Lowdollar's published calibration data shows:

  • 140°F: 123.24 Ω

  • 176°F: 130.90 Ω

  • Total change: Only 7.66 Ω across 36°F!

With so little resistance change, even small errors caused by wiring resistance, electrical connections, or measurement circuitry can result in significant temperature inaccuracies.

Our PTemp sensor has a substantially greater resistance change through the normal engine operating temperature range, making it better suited for accurate temperature measurement using automotive ECU sensor inputs.

Accurate coolant temperature is essential for proper fueling, ignition timing, cooling fan operation, and engine protection strategies.

HP Tuners Integration – Calibration Data Included!

We've done the calibration work for you.

Every PTemp kit includes the calibration data needed to integrate the sensor with compatible factory GM PCMs or aftermarket engine management systems.

Factory Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)

The PTemp sensor directly replaces the factory ECT sensor while retaining the factory PCM's coolant temperature monitoring functionality.

Because the PTemp sensor uses a different resistance curve than the original sensor, the factory ECT calibration must be updated using HP Tuners VCM Editor.

We provide the complete ECT sensor calibration data, ready to copy and paste into the appropriate PCM calibration table.

Coolant Pressure Logging

The pressure sensor provides a linear 0–5V analog output.

Our plug-and-play harnesses include a separate analog pressure output for connection to an HP Tuners Pro Link cable or to your aftermarket ECU input.

We provide the VCM Scanner transfer functions needed to log coolant pressure in your preferred units:

  • PSIg – Pounds per square inch, gauge

  • KPAg – Kilopascals, gauge

  • KPAa – Kilopascals, absolute

Simply configure the analog input in VCM Scanner using the supplied transfer function.

Note: An HP Tuners Pro Link cable is required for logging the additional coolant pressure signal through VCM Scanner with the factory PCM. Pro Link cable sold separately.

Aftermarket ECU Integration

Using an aftermarket ECU? We've got you covered.

We provide the complete pressure and temperature calibration data for integration with all aftermarket engine management systems.

Confirmed Sensor Fitment

We've confirmed physical sensor fitment in:

  • GM LS-based cylinder heads

  • GM LT1 cylinder heads

  • GM LT4 with factory supercharger

  • GM LT4 with Magnuson 2650 supercharger

The sensor installs directly in place of your factory ECT sensor.

Important Installation Information

  • Factory PCM applications require updating the ECT sensor calibration using HP Tuners VCM Editor.

  • Logging the additional coolant pressure signal in VCM Scanner requires an HP Tuners Pro Link cable (sold separately)

  • IF "I'll wire it myself" is selected, the installer will need Metri-Pack W-type crimpers. 533 Crimper Tool from Waytek at minimum.
